The Outpatient Therapist provides high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups in an outpatient setting. The Therapist is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery of therapeutic services in accordance with Ohio licensure laws, agency policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. Services are delivered using a person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach. SUPERVISOR: Clinical Supervisor or Designee DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and psychosocial assessments. Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the interdisciplinary team. Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy consistent with scope of practice and licensure. Utilize evidence-based and best-practice therapeutic modalities appropriate to client needs (e.g., CBT, DBT, MI, trauma-informed care). Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with OMHAS, Medicaid, and agency standards. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination activities. Collaborate with internal and external providers, referral sources, and community partners as needed to support continuity of care. Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and appropriate referrals for higher levels of care when clinically indicated. Maintain ethical standards, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, when applicable. Participate in required supervision, training, and continuing education activities. Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree - counseling or social work Knowledge of evidence-based treatment models and recovery-oriented systems of care Reliable transportation Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification Preferred: Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Preferred: Familiarity with Medicaid billing and documentation requirements. Preferred: Experience in integrated care, community mental health, or FQHC settings. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Unrestricted LPCC/LISW license to practice in the State of Ohio Unrestricted State of Ohio driver’s license COMPLIANCE: This position requires compliance with AFS’ written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.
