We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others. We are seeking an Outpatient Therapist to provide ongoing and developmentally appropriate, evidence based, trauma and recovery focused outpatient therapy to clients of Network180’s Outpatient Clinic. This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in-person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.
  • Licensure in the State of Michigan as a limited licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, OR be eligible for a limited license as stated above and obtain that licensure within three months of hire.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis.
  • Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.
  • At least one year of experience providing individual and/or group DBT therapy to adults.
  • Fully licensed MSW, Professional Counselor, Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Training in and experience with providing Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
  • CAADC certification through the Michigan Certificate Board for Addiction Professionals or able to obtain a development plan for the credential.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions).
  • For DBT therapists, experience providing DBT to fidelity as a member of a DBT treatment team.
  • For I/DD Therapists, experience providing individual therapy to those with I/DD.
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
