The Staff Physical Therapists at Mercy Medical Center provide services aimed at evaluating the patients' current state, determining their potential for improvement and assisting the patient in regaining an optimal level of ability in gross motor skills, muscular strength and function, mobility, the reduction of pain, and the improvement in the loss of skin/tissue integrity. The Staff Physical Therapist provides individualized, one on one care, based upon the needs of the patient and family to optimize patient outcomes. Our patient population is primarily orthopedic related. Our department provides state of the art treatment, modalities and equipment to enable the therapists to provide optimum care for enhanced results. We work closely with our exceptional team of referring providers to create and execute a treatment plan that is comprehensive and seamless.

Requirements

  • Meet all requirements of The Maryland State Board of PT Examiners, and licensed by this regulatory agency with a PT license.
  • Level C CPR certification for health care providers.
  • Understanding of orthopedic impairments and treatments, gait/transfer training, therapeutic exercise, soft tissue treatments, electro-therapeutic modalities, wound care, orthotic and prosthetic training and checks.
  • Knowledge of treating vertigo or willingness to learn is preferred.
