About The Position

The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is looking for a Physical Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will work primarily with adults with pelvic floor dysfunction in an outpatient setting at the Medical Center University Campus. Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patient’s needs. Assignment will primarily be to adult inpatient acute care setting Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public Performs special projects and tasks as assigned Collaboration and Embracing Diversity: Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity Positive Impact/Achieving Results: Ability to utilize existing resources and learning to achieve or exceed desired outcomes of current and future organizational goals/needs. Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor’s degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required
  • 2 years experience in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, including internal assessment and treatment
  • Evidence of continued education to support a pelvic floor specialization
  • Demonstrated clinical education abilities and leadership is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in Physical Therapy with advanced understanding and skill in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an outpatient setting.
  • Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in the evaluation and treatment of patients across the gender spectrum with pelvic floor muscle dysfunction including but not limited to bowel dysfunction, bladder dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, musculoskeletal disorders in pregnancy and postpartum, diastasis rectus abdominis, and pelvic pain
  • Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team
  • Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence
