Position Summary The Outpatient RN role is a hybrid clinical and leadership role within an outpatient behavioral health setting. This position provides direct clinical support while also serving as an onsite leadership presence for the Clinical Support Team at the Opus Drive location. This role may require occasional travel to the Hollow Brook location to support clinic operations. As an extension of the Clinical Support Team Lead, this role plays a key part in maintaining day-to-day operations, staff scheduling, and team engagement. The ideal candidate is a licensed RN who enjoys mentoring others, managing workflows, and supporting both people and systems in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado
  • ASN or BSN from an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (outpatient, ambulatory, or behavioral health preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including coaching, scheduling, or staff oversight
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (or active plan to obtain)
  • Experience in outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health
  • Prior experience serving as a lead, preceptor, or supervisor
  • Comfort working with EHR systems, prior authorizations, and referral workflows
  • Interest in leadership development and team growth

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on clinical support within scope of RN licensure, including:
  • Vital signs collection
  • Urine drug screening (UDS)
  • Medication-related support per established protocols
  • Complete prior authorizations, clinical documentation support, and coordination with payers as required
  • Initiate and process referrals to internal or external providers in coordination with clinical leadership
  • Assist with patient flow, care coordination, and clinic operations
  • Support providers (PMHNPs, therapists, and other clinical staff) with daily clinical needs
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
  • Accurately document clinical activities in the EHR per regulatory and organizational standards
  • Serve as a clinical resource to support staff and reinforce best practices
  • Perform other duties as directed to support clinical operations and patient care
  • Provide consistent onsite leadership during assigned shifts at the Opus Drive location
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for Clinical Support Team members
  • Serve as a visible leader to reinforce expectations, professionalism, and clinical standards
  • Assist with real-time problem-solving, workflow adjustments, and coverage needs
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and day-to-day management of team schedules, ensuring adequate onsite coverage
  • Assist with coordinating coverage for call-outs, PTO, and unexpected staffing gaps
  • Monitor attendance patterns and escalate concerns to the Team Lead as appropriate
  • Reinforce adherence to approved schedules and timekeeping expectations
  • Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with assigned Clinical Support Team members
  • Use 1:1s to provide coaching, feedback, and performance support
  • Identify barriers impacting performance, engagement, or morale and escalate trends to the Team Lead
  • Document key discussion points in alignment with internal leadership expectations
  • Support onboarding, training, and competency reinforcement for new and existing staff
  • Assist with skills validation and reinforcement of clinical protocols
  • Identify training gaps and collaborate with the Team Lead on corrective action or development plans
  • Model accountability, professionalism, and adherence to policies
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered team culture
  • Reinforce expectations related to attendance, communication, and role responsibilities
