About The Position

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nationally recognized health care system located in central North Carolina. Responsible for registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre certifications and verification of demographic information. This position is deemed essential . Essential staff are expected to report to work during inclement weather.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and shift rotations as needed.
  • High school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Two years’ experience in a medical related field preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively able to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner.
  • Must be able to type 35 wpm and be computer literate.
  • The candidate/employee must be committed to excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will also include payment collection and posting, and financial assistance applications as needed.
