About The Position

The Outpatient Registration Coordinator is responsible for the registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre-certifications, and verification of demographic information. This role is considered essential, requiring staff to report to work even during inclement weather. Additional responsibilities include payment collection and posting, and assisting with financial assistance applications as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and shift rotations as needed
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Effectively able to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner
  • Must be able to type 35 wpm
  • Computer literate
  • Committed to excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external
  • Able to perform in frequent stressful situations
  • Able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English Language
  • Perceiving the nature of sound by ear
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more (Acuity, Far)
  • Clarity of 20 inches or less (Acuity, Near)
