About The Position

The Outpatient Reference Clerk is responsible for registering patients for laboratory testing. This role performs scheduled courier trips to reference client’s offices to pick-up specimens and deliver supplies. Other duties include processing specimens for laboratory testing and perform clerical duties as assigned and performing outpatient phlebotomy procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma in phlebotomy preferred.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and data entry.
• Willingness to learn and develop phlebotomy skills.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain acceptable driving record
• Ability to learn techniques for venipunctures

• Experience in clinical setting
• Experience in phlebotomy procedure
