About The Position

UT Health East Texas seeks experienced APP (Nurse Practitioner or PA-C) for Pulmonology outpatient clinic opportunity in Tyler, Texas. The position involves working in an outpatient clinic from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an established patient base of 15+ patients daily. The role requires a team player to work within an established outpatient setting with exceptional team members. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and evaluating patients for ongoing treatment. The APP will serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, residents, fellows, and other APPs, facilitating educational sessions and contributing to the overall development of protocols and guidelines within the academic outpatient clinic setting. Participation in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, optimizing clinical outcomes, and improving care within all measured delivery processes is also expected. Additionally, the APP will contribute to research projects, scholarly activities, and evidence-based practice initiatives within the outpatient clinic. The clinic utilizes smart technology, including Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology, to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding, leading to better work-life balance and revenue.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented outpatient setting.
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
