About The Position

Provides professional patient care by implementing and documenting physical therapy treatments as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. Administers therapy in accordance with physician orders and the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist, using a variety of therapeutic techniques and assistive devices to support functional improvement across all areas of the patient's life. Follows individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and collaborates with the Physical Therapist to update and revise plans as necessary. Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in exercises and home programs to continue following discharge. Ensures timely and accurate documentation and billing. All care is delivered in accordance with the philosophy and standards of the hospital, rehabilitation department, Indiana State Practice Act, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and The Joint Commission.

Requirements

  • Must have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
  • Must hold or be eligible for licensure as a PTA in the state where services are provided; licensure must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • CPR certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must maintain all required certifications and licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • APTA membership preferred.
  • Prior work experience is preferred but not required beyond clinical experience obtained during an educational program.
