Auberle’s mission is to help build strong individuals, families, and communities Program Description: Auberle Outpatient Wellness and Counseling provides trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health and substance use services for individuals, families, and communities. Our program offers therapy, psychiatric medication management, and case coordination to ensure holistic, client-centered care. Clinicians work with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote resilience and well-being. Position Title and Overview: ​​Outpatient Psychatrist – Contractor​ Offer weekly supervision and consultative support to clinical staff. Ensure clinical guidance is timely and documented per agency standards. Complete thorough psychiatric assessments for youth and adults, including children as young as 5 years old. Submit evaluations within 48 hours. Oversee safe, effective medication regimens for a caseload of 30–50 clients. Monitor side effects and maintain accurate medication notes. Deliver care across mental health services. Maintain all treatment documentation in line with clinical and regulatory timelines. Work with a multidisciplinary team to build integrated, client-centered care plans. Participate in team meetings and coordinate care regularly. Location and Travel Requirements: This position is primarily located in McKeesport and Downtown Pittsburgh. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled. The travel required for this position is ​regular.​ Great Benefits: Flexible schedule with a minimum commitment of 14 hours per week. Competitive compensation as an independent contractor (1099).

Requirements

  • Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a four-year psychiatry residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent.
  • Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Valid PA driver’s license, vehicle, registration, and proof of insurance.​
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) is preferred.
