About The Position

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult, substance abuse, and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for those seeking treatment for mental illness. The Outpatient Program Therapist plans, provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to adult and adolescent IOP/PHP patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital. Responsibilities include conducting group therapy, family therapy, case management, treatment planning, rounding with clinical staff, discharge/care planning and follow-up, and resource development/assistance.

Requirements

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility or outpatient setting.
• Direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
• Strong clinical assessment skills.
• LCSW, LMSW or LPC license to practice in the State of Mississippi preferred.
• CPR certification and CPI certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, coordinate, document, and evaluate direct and indirect social services to adult and adolescent IOP/PHP patients.
• Conduct group therapy and family therapy.
• Perform case management and treatment planning.
• Participate in rounding with clinical staff.
• Assist in discharge/care planning and follow-up.
• Develop and assist with resource development.
