Candidates should have a passion for an aging population focusing on the neurodegenerative (primarily Parkinson's disease) and orthopaedic patient populations. The position works alongside PT's and Community Fitness coordinators and membership in the Reynolds Institute on Aging on the UAMS Campus. The outpatient physical therapist provides an individualized evaluation, during which the client, family/caregiver, and physical therapist determine the patient's goals, customize interventions to optimize the person's ability to perform functional activities, and continuously assess progress towards goals to ensure goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient's needs and skills. Functional outcomes data is completed through collection of best practice data via patient questionnaires, performance measures, and documented treatment interventions.
