About The Position

PRN Outpatient Pharmacy Technician - This position can cover shifts at any of our outpatient pharmacies in North Iowa, shifts vary beginning at 8:00am and ending as late as 6:30pm M-F, Saturdays 8:00am-12:00noon. The Pharmacy Technician assists in the technical functions of the practice of pharmacy, enabling the pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to the patient. An integral part of the pharmacy team, the technician transcribes prescriptions to the pharmacy dispensing system, bills insurance, packages, and labels medications, assists with inventory control, and provides exceptional customer service to our patients.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Technician Trainee or Certified Pharmacy Technician is required prior to commencement of employment
• Pharmacy Technician Certification must be acquired and maintained from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association
• Must be able to read, write and/or speak English

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Pharmacy technician training course and/or Certification
• Previous Retail Pharmacy Technician experience
• Previous Long Term Care or Acute Care Pharmacy Technician experience
• Previous retail/customer service experience
