About The Position

UHS Hospitals is recruiting an Outpatient Palliative Care Physician/Associate Medical Director of Palliative Care Services located at United Health Services Hospitals, Johnson City NY Seeking both experienced or new graduate. Strong understanding of palliative care clinical models including considerations of design, business modeling, productivity, quality, experience, and equity; experience with new program development or expansion preferred but not required. Experience in clinical teaching is desired Join our established team of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, and an Administrative Director. Focused, collaborative environment and continued mentorship within the team as well as participation in Interdisciplinary Team Rounding Assist in growing collaborative relationships with hospital & specialty departments to enhance and inform primary palliative care delivery Monday-Friday Schedule- Outpatient-Focused (90% Clinical / 10% Medical Director) Will support the Administrative Director in developing new outpatient initiatives, enhancing service lines, and improving operational workflows. Will contribute to strategic planning, program expansion, and evaluation of palliative care clinical models (design, business modeling, productivity, quality, experience, and equity). Will participate in regulatory readiness, quality improvement projects, and development of clinical best‑practice guidelines. Will provide comprehensive outpatient palliative consultations, evaluations, and follow-up visits. Perform physical examinations; interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests; identify clinical problems and formulate evidence‑based care plans. Manage complex symptoms (pain, dyspnea, mood, nausea, functional decline) with both pharmacologic and integrative approaches. Lead goals-of-care discussions and advance care planning in partnership with patients, caregivers, and referring clinicians. Deliver patient‑centered, values‑aligned care in a supportive, team-based outpatient environment. Will participate as a clinical educator in the instruction and supervision of learners: Medical students, Internal Medicine Residents, Family Medicine Residents, and Geriatric Medicine Fellows who are rotating on our Service. Will participate in clinical research activities from time to time as determined by the Administrative Director of the Service. Will participate in and become a member of the UHS Ethics Committee. Will perform other assigned clinical duties as determined by the Medical Director. Board certified/eligible in Palliative Medicine as well as pertinent medical specialty (ie Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, etc.) and be able to maintain licensure in New York State. Requirements

  • Board certified/eligible in Palliative Medicine as well as pertinent medical specialty (ie Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, etc.) and be able to maintain licensure in New York State.
