About The Position

Innovative Therapy Concepts (ITC) is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy Management Organization that was founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We partner with Middle Georgia Orthopedics to manage all therapy operations. We are searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant that is seeking to join an organization that seeks to “Elevate the Experience" as we encounter each patient we serve. This career opportunity allows for a Physical Therapist Assistant to practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with the opportunity to treat a variety of surgical and non-operative patients. Exposure to a diverse caseload treating upper and lower extremity as well as spine patients. Therapist will administer treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability under the supervision of onsite Physical Therapist. Requirements

• Physical Therapist Assistant with a strong drive to learn and grow - enhance your clinical skills while working with an experienced team
• Candidate with a strong emphasis on patient care, quality, outcomes, and efficiency
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program
• Responsible individual with a solid work ethic
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Must have an active and current Physical Therapist Assistant License that allows you to practice in the state in which you work.
• Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to educate patients about their condition, treatments, and to communicate with patients’ families.
• Should also be compassionate and possess a desire to help patients.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software, and basic email skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, and hot and cold packs.
• Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain.
• Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities such as preambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.
• Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to Physical Therapist.
• Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
• Gives orientation to new Physical Therapist Assistants and directs and gives instructions to Physical Therapy Aides.
• Performs clerical duties such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms.
• Measures patient's range-of-joint motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments or to assist Physical Therapist to compile data for patient evaluations.
• Monitors treatments administered by Physical Therapy Aides.
