Ambulatory Health Care Services

This full-time clinical internship is designed to support our outpatient orthopedic physical and hand therapy teams. The primary goal of the position is to enhance the quality of care delivered to patients by contributing to process improvement initiatives, creating educational resources for both patients and clinicians, and assisting with administrative tasks to help frontline providers dedicate more time to direct patient care.

  • Collaborate with therapists to develop patient and provider education materials
  • Improve operational efficiency (such as room turnover and patient flow)
  • Conduct chart audits for compliance
  • Offer general administrative support
  • Must meet one of the following: Current CNA, EMT, or Paramedic certification, or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare-related field (training time determined based on experience)
  • Currently enrolled in nursing school with completed first clinical rotations (if hired prior to 12/3/18)
  • Two (2) years of military medical experience will be accepted
  • Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire
  • CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education
  • Two (2) years of previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required)
  • Acceptable accrediting agencies: Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center, must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire
  • Previous experience in direct patient care through work and/or school program is preferred
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications
  • Demonstrates ability to think critically
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds
  • CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred
  • Previous experience in direct patient care through work and/or school program is preferred
