About The Position

Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy management organization that was founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We began our partnership with Ortho Georgia in 2024 to provide management of their therapy services. ITC is searching for an Occupational Therapist that is seeking to join an organization that seeks to “Elevate the Experience" as we encounter each patient we serve. This career opportunity allows for an Occupational Therapist to practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with the opportunity to evaluate and treat a variety of surgical and non-operative patients. Exposure to treating a diverse caseload of shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand diagnosis, including fabricating custom splints. Therapist will administer medically prescribed occupational therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Requirements

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited occupational therapy program

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Athena database software; Internet software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software, and basic email skills.
• Must have an active and current Occupational Therapist License that allows you to practice in the state in which you work.
• Must have passed the National Occupational Therapy Examination and fulfill state requirements such as jurisprudence exam.
• Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to educate patients about their condition, treatments, and to communicate with patients’ families.
• Should also be compassionate and possess a desire to help patients.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine occupational therapy treatment required.
• Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
• Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.
• Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
• Administers therapeutic exercises to improve strength, ROM, flexibility, and cardiovascular function.
• Instructs, motivates and assists patient to perform various physical activities to achieve functional goals.
• Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities and in use of assistant and supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Administers treatments involving application of physical agents.
• Administers treatments involving application of various modalities and physical agents including but not limited to: hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, TENS and taping.
• Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Administers massage.
• Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
• Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modification to Orthotist.
• Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate occupational therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.
• Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, techs, and students.
• Plans and conducts lectures and training programs on occupational therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups.
• Consult and practice with a variety of other professionals, such as physicians, dentists, nurses, educators, social workers, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists.
