About The Position

When you join our team of over 40 Outpatient Clinics across Central Florida, you will be part of a winning team of experts dedicated to whole-person care to help our patients heal, strengthen and renew. We serve patients Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated Team of therapists, clinicians and staff willing to carry on AdventHealth's mission in the communities we serve. As an Occupational Therapist in an outpatient setting you will provide professional direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med and Rehab Department. Accept the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and five or more years of experience as an occupational therapist, OR
  • Master's in Occupational Therapy and one or more years of experience as an occupational therapist
  • Current valid State of Florida license as an Occupational Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Determines Occupational Therapy Diagnosis and establishes plan of care, make recommendations for referral if treatment needed outside of scope of Physical Therapist practice.
  • Engages in promoting evidence-based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/CI and/or clinical practice education within a peer group.
  • Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements, and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/oraccording to standards of practice and payer guidelines.
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
  • Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships with a minimum of two contacts per month. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director.
