About The Position

Casual Outpatient Nurse Coordinator – Hospital Based Clinic for Endocrinology UPMC McKeesport UPMC McKeesport is seeking a Casual Nurse Outpatient Coordinator to join our supportive and collaborative Endocrinology team. This position will primarily work an 8-hour daylight shift every Friday- no holidays or weekends! This role is ideal for an RN who values teamwork, patient connection, and contributing to a specialty practice that encourages continuous learning. What You’ll Do Coordinate daily outpatient operations for the endocrinology practice. Manage authorizations and prescription refill workflows. Support patient care activities, including administering Qutenza treatments. Work closely with physicians and team members to ensure seamless, compassionate care Preferred Experience Endocrinology experience is helpful but not required. Familiarity with authorizations, medication refills, or outpatient coordination is a plus.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years nursing experience, BSN preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
CPR CertificationUPMC approved national certification preferred.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Registered Nurse (RN)
Act 34
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Nice To Haves

Endocrinology experience is helpful but not required.
Familiarity with authorizations, medication refills, or outpatient coordination is a plus.

Accountable for outpatient treatment follow up necessary for patient to maintain health in between outpatient visits.
Serves as primary nursing resource to patient caseload.
Facilitates necessary services outside of the healthcare facility, interacts with homecare and other support services.
