Outpatient Neuro Physical Therapist at Northside Gwinnett in Lawrenceville
About The Position
Innovative Therapy Concepts (ITC) is searching for a Physical Therapist with a passion for providing excellent patient experiences after neurologic injury or impairment in the outpatient setting. This Physical therapist will provide neuro-specialized treatment to patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team comprised of Occupational and Speech Language Pathologists. Patient care is comprised of an individualized one-on-one treatment approach for patients with a focus on regaining functional independence and safe mobility after neurologic events such as stroke, hemorrhage or spinal cord injury. All services provided in a state-of-the-art facility with new exercise evidence based equipment to aid in providing the highest level of care to the diverse population of Gwinnett County.
Requirements
- Physical Therapist with a strong drive to learn and grow - enhance your clinical skills while working with an experienced team
- Candidate with a strong emphasis on patient care, quality, outcomes, and efficiency
- Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
- Responsible individual with a solid work ethic
- Excellent communication and people skills
- New graduates are welcome to apply. Our clinical education and mentorship allow for a successful transition from PT school to this clinical setting
Responsibilities
- Appropriately assesses and examines patients with varying diagnoses according to PT scope of practice.
- Treats patient within the PT scope of practice.
- Teaches patients how to use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assistive apparati.
- Provides education to patients, caregivers and associates regarding PT interventions, safety, community resources and outcomes.
- Recommends appropriate adaptive equipment for ambulation and functional mobility.
- Coordinates and leads groups.
- Attends and participates in care planning meetings as assigned.
- Communicates and collaborates with all customers and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintains gym area and equipment.
- Contributes to profits and revenues including marketing and productivity.
- Participates in budget development and cost saving efforts.
- Serves on performance improvement teams.
- Participates in community services.
- Supervises treatment and documentation of the physical therapy assistant.
- Delegates treatment tasks to PTAs and aides in accordance with PT state practice guidelines.
- Provides care and documentation in accordance with regulatory, legal, and reimbursement guidelines.
- Accepts responsibility for own growth and development through inservices, required programs and continuing education.
- Complies with all established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains CPR certification.
- Assumes responsibility for completing all assignments and tasks in a timely and cost efficient manner.
- Performs other duties as required.
