About The Position

The Outpatient Mental Health Worker provides direct and indirect client care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist in the Outpatient Services program. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients, particularly those at risk, while assisting with their needs in an outpatient setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years' experience as a behavioral health worker, preferred.
• Current CPR certification and maintain current certification.
• Complete MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) within 30 days of employment and maintain current certification.

• Demonstrates appropriate professional boundaries and treats clients with respect.
• Ability to assess routine situations and take appropriate action.
• Demonstrates de-escalation techniques and sets limits for clients.

Responsibilities

• Orients clients to the program and documents appropriately in the client record.
• Monitors clients with increased risk for danger to self or others and assists with their stabilization or transfer to the ARBH Intake department for immediate assessment.
• Follows Professional Crisis Management procedures accurately when needed.
• Applies appropriate Behavioral Management plans and contracts specific to individual programs/clients.
• Assists with client needs in the outpatient setting, including transport to the dining room for meals and support for the clinical team.
