About The Position

Join the team at the Centennial Imaging Center as the Lead Technologist, where youll blend clinical expertise with vital leadership to ensure exceptional patient care and high-quality diagnostic imaging. This role involves performing a variety of advanced imaging exams, managing the daily operations of the center, overseeing technical staff, and acting as a key liaison between physicians, radiologists, and other departments to maintain efficiency and clinical excellence. Youll be instrumental in staff management, quality control, patient satisfaction, and supporting the overall strategic goals of the center.

Requirements

  • ARRT registered in Radiography.
  • ARRT registered in at least one advanced modality, including: CT, MRI, or ARDMS (OB) (AB).
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology and/or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a technologist in Medical Imaging.
  • Ability to maintain all required licenses, certifications, and accreditations.

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Direct and make assignments for the daily operations of the imaging center.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules, monitoring and adjusting staffing to meet set productivity metrics.
  • Enter, edit, and review Kronos timecards for accuracy and readiness for manager approval.
  • Participate in the interviewing, selection, and orientation of new hires and students.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
  • Act as a liaison and point of contact between physician offices, scheduling, radiologists, nursing staff, and other technologists to ensure timely communication and protocol adherence.
  • Ensure that all Quality Control (QC) activities are completed (e.g., ACR accreditation, crash cart checks).
  • Monitor and report on the working order of all equipment.
  • Participate in performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary functions alongside the department manager.
  • Engage in service recovery through investigation and customer interaction and round on patients to ensure exceptional service.
  • Support customer service initiatives and act as a role model for outstanding patient care.
  • Take patient history, retrieve necessary orders/prior images, and provide appropriate history/signs/symptoms to the radiologist.
  • Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
  • Support Radiation Right and dose reduction during exams and inform patients about procedures.
  • (Specific to CT/MRI): Prepare procedure trays, assist the Radiologist in procedures, start IVs for contrast administration, perform i-STAT creatinine levels, use a power injector, and properly administer and document all medications within the technologist's scope of practice.
