About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a full-time Women’s Health position at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY. Flushing Hospital is a 300-bed teaching hospital established in 1884, providing essential medical care to the Queens community as part of the Medisys Health Network. In this role, you’ll primarily provide outpatient coverage in the onsite Women’s Health Clinic, counseling on Gestational Diabetes and weight management during pregnancy to a primarily Spanish-speaking population. no weekends or holidays! health benefits and paid time off available reimbursement for AND dues, state licensure fees and CDR renewal money toward continuing education events up to $5000 tuition reimbursement annually

Requirements

Registered Dietitian credential and CDN in New York State
full proficiency in Spanish (required)
excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills
the ability to work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff
a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Responsibilities

provide exceptional nutrition care to Women’s Health Clinic patients (80%), as well as inpatient OB/GYN patients (20%)
serve as an active member of the multidisciplinary care team, with involvement in group education classes, committees and community outreach events as needed
participate in performance improvement and/or outcome measurement initiatives
be knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process
efficiently and effectively organize clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities
