About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian for a Diabetes Education I position for Holy Cross Hospital, part of the Sinai Health System in Chicago, IL. This is a great opportunity to work with other skilled Diabetes Educators at the accredited Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, where quality patient care is the top priority. CDCES is not required, but this role is a great way to obtain the credential! This position requires experience working with Diabetes Education. This role is Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays! Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian licensed in Illinois
  • Six months of experience with outpatient Diabetes Education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and interdisciplinary team members at all levels
  • Ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others regarding their nutrition
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with glucometers, insulin pumps, carbohydrate counting, medication management (oral and injectable), and glucose pattern management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with a diverse population of individuals with Type I, Type II, and Gestational Diabetes
  • Occasionally cover the Weight Wellness Clinic
  • Empower clients to achieve life-changing goals who are currently experiencing diabetes
  • Provide individualized education to clients through evidence-based nutrition care in the specialized area of diabetes
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to recommend, implement, and monitor nutrition interventions
  • participate in quality improvement projects and regulatory compliance within the department
