We're a new approach to an old problem. Job Summary: The Group Facilitator role supports individuals in their journey towards addressing mental health and recovery from substance abuse and addiction. This role is responsible for leading and facilitating group therapy sessions, providing support, guidance, and education to individuals struggling with addiction, and helping them develop the necessary skills to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health & human services field preferred.
  • CDCA License valid in Ohio.
  • QMHS III certification preferred. (Required for Red Track)
  • BLS/CPR certification, will train upon hire.
  • 1 year of Group Facilitator experience preferred.
  • Red Track- 3 years' experience required without additional education or certifications.
  • Substance use disorder and behavioral health complications.
  • Community health resources supporting physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health; economic security; employment; social/family interdependence; and cultural identity.
  • Referral procedures and admission criteria for healthcare and community providers.
  • Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare, social, and cultural service agencies.
  • 12-Step Recovery Program.
  • Problem solving, stress management, ethics, and team building.
  • Alcohol and drug impacts (physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual) on individuals and families.
  • Ability to identify medical emergencies and take appropriate action.
  • Emergency procedures for alcohol and/or drug overdose.
  • Stages of alcohol and drug withdrawal and appropriate responses.
  • Federal, State, and Municipal regulations governing addiction treatment, including confidentiality, patient rights, professional ethics, and discrimination laws.
  • Airborne and bloodborne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB), risk reduction methods, and universal precautions.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health & human services field preferred.
  • QMHS III certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate group therapy sessions for individuals in various stages of addiction recovery.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for group members to share their experiences, challenges, and successes.
  • Educate group members about addiction, recovery principles, coping strategies, and relapse prevention techniques.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions to address the unique needs of each group member.
  • Collaborate with other addiction treatment professionals, such as counselors, social workers, and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive care for group members.
  • Assist group members in setting and achieving realistic goals for their recovery journey.
  • Conduct individual assessments to evaluate the progress and needs of group members.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of group attendance, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to group members experiencing acute emotional distress or substance abuse cravings.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and trends in addiction treatment and recovery.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by Leads or Managers.
  • Attend supervision meetings once a month.
  • Available to cover 2 weekend shifts a month at minimum.
