About The Position

Assigns and sequences code for complex outpatient accounts according to established regulatory guidelines, industry best practices, and IH policies and procedures. This is a remote position

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding conventions (ICD 10 – CM/PC, CPT, and HCPCS), and CMS coding requirements
• Computer proficiency, ability to research coding questions and utilize educational resources required
• Credentialed through American Health Information Management Association in one of the following: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
• Credentialed through American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in one of the following: Certified Outpatient Coder (COC, COC-A) Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CPC-A)

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree
• 1 year coding experience in an acute care facility
