Our OMH Adult Outpatient Clinic provides a multi-disciplinary team of licensed independent practitioners and clinicians to provide services for adults experiencing co-occurring symptoms and disorders. This collaborative approach to care, integrating medication with therapy, ensures the best outcomes for clients. In addition to helping individuals reduce symptoms, the focus of treatment is on developing self-awareness and identifying personal goals and strategies to achieve those goals. Our clinic uses evidence-based best practices in all treatment modalities, and takes a holistic approach to the individual. Position Summary: The Outpatient Clinician is a member of the clinical outpatient services team and has a primary role of offering individual psychotherapy services to clients in the OMH Outpatient Clinic. Psychotherapy services help individuals in improving social, emotional and cognitive functioning along with teaching skills and promoting self-sufficiency. The clinician develops and completes individualized treatment planning to assist clients in reaching identified objectives and goals.

Requirements

  • Masters’ Degree in Social Work or Masters’ Degree Mental Health Counseling and possession of a New York State Limited Permit to practice under the supervision of a qualified licensed practitioner
  • One-two years of experience providing behavioral health services in clinic settings
  • strong individual and group skills, and the ability to manage clients with mental health, substance use and/or co-occurring disorders
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills
  • knowledge of recovery concepts, self-help, and community resources
  • provides excellent client service and demonstrates a high level of cultural competency
  • Possesses an ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and has a working knowledge of computers and electronic health records
  • Must be cleared by the New York State Central Registry.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of New York State Licensure as a LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a full-time caseload as assigned
  • Utilize targeted psychotherapy and evidence-based practices as indicated by participant need
  • Utilizes the DSM V Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in the diagnostic assessment of all clients
  • Meet Weekly Target Productivity Expectations: 26 Units of Service Full Time
  • Actively engage clients in treatment to improve client outcomes and decrease no show rate
  • Complete individual intake assessments, psychotherapy, treatment / discharge planning
  • Conducts face-to-face comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and mental status exams, as well as diagnostic assessment for all clients initiating care, and reassesses clients on a regular basis
  • Develops comprehensive, individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client and the multidisciplinary team; and provides oversight for the periodic re-evaluation and revision of the treatment as necessary over the episode of the client’s care.
  • Provide clinical case management service as needed including assisting clients with securing benefits, housing, employment, and other basic needs
  • Provide all services within the values and philosophies of Equinox and OMH Outpatient Clinic.
  • Maintains and protects accurate and timely documentation in case records according to agency policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide crisis services and co-occurring disorder treatment, as indicated
  • Coordinate with collateral contacts and other treatment providers
  • Keep clinical certifications current and attend workshops, conferences and trainings
  • Provide clinical supervision to those obtaining their license
  • Participate in the on-call phone rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
