About The Position

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services & locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. Position Summary: The clinic lead will work directly with clinical staff and the outpatient clinic manager to ensure that clinic patients receive high quality care while demonstrating the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Previous healthcare experience (at least 3 years)
  • Current clinical license or certification within the state of practice/location of office
  • Current BLS certification
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform complex and varied tasks in a fast-paced work environment subject to stress and interruption
  • Diplomacy and dealing with sensitive issues
  • Demonstrates leadership through positive interactions and conflict resolution
  • If licensed, maintain licensure in states of practice
  • Comfortable using Microsoft products and EHR

Responsibilities

  • Models and leads quality customer service by being helpful, friendly, and professional with patients, providers, visitors, and employees.
  • Assisting with the flow of patients throughout the clinic, intervening for busy practice times, ensuring lunch times are covered, or complex procedures.
  • Documents all patient and telephone transactions accurately and completely while providing excellent service.
  • Applies critical thinking to complex situations to resolve patient needs.
  • Facilitates communication with the clinical team and management team, assisting staff with use of established systems for maintenance, IS, ordering, and safety concern reporting.
  • Participates in department meetings or committee work including potentially leading/facilitating as assigned.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned including but not limited to new employee orientation and working with quality nurse and nursing manager to implement quality improvement efforts.
  • Provides education to the team as directed by Clinic Manager.
  • Fields and addresses patient and staff concerns with limited need for referral in real time response.
  • Assists with requisitioning and inventory of routine office supplies.
  • Through leadership and example assists with enforcement of compliance and policies, including in moment correction.
  • Outlines staffing assignments for the oncoming shift, assigned based on volume and complexity.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to create seamless care for patients.
  • Frequently rounds for visibility and resource with team.
  • Provides staff performance feedback to manager for inclusion in performance evaluation.
