About The Position

The Outpatient Therapy Manager will possess a highly specialized knowledge base and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development. Communicates clinical issues, as they relate to service or program development, to the leadership team. Promotes clinical development, competency and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes. Assists with daily operational management tasks. Effectively communicates on multiple levels. Each patient has their own room and receives our customized treatment plans based on their medical and therapy needs as they recover from: Brain Injury Spinal Cord Injury Stroke Amputation Neurological Disorders Orthopedic Conditions Multiple Traumas Select Medical is an organization that is passionate about safety for our patients and our team members. The Inpatient Rehabilitation Division conducts post-offer employment testing (POET) for a number of job titles including, but not limited to: Rehabilitation Assistant/Nursing Assistant Nurse Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Environmental Services POETS are completed as part of the onboarding process-to be completed before an employee's first day of work.

Requirements

Current and valid state licensure as a PT/OT/SLP required.
A minimum of five years experience in a rehab setting required with supervisory experience preferred.

Identifies and initiates own professional growth through continued learning, self-study and involvement in professional activities and organizations.
Identifies and effectively utilizes individual and team strengths to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring the success of operational and clinical initiatives.
Optimizes departmental operations by identifying current needs, strategically delegating responsibility, and planning for succession of these responsibilities.
Carries patient caseload and provides comprehensive goal directed patient treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
Organizes patient treatment in order to maximize productivity and treatment efficiency on an individual and department basis.
Identifies, responds and reports acute changes in patient status.
Follows appropriate emergency procedures to insure patient safety.
Coordinates and facilitates departmental response to emergency situations.
Pursues focused skill development through continuing education, self study, involvement in professional activities and organizations.
Utilizes the organization's performance improvement methodology to improve quality of services provided by this position to develop program improvement initiatives.
Takes an active role in implementing new PI initiatives, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
Provides feedback regarding outcomes to all levels of the IP Rehab department, in order to maximize performance improvement.
Serves as a liaison between clinical department and DOR, to effectively communicate and clarify expectations related to departmental needs and organizational initiatives, determine procedures to implement strategic goals, and provide recommendations to maximize operational efficiency.
Performs other duties as requested.
