Therapist GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Therapist reports to the Assistant Vice President of Behavioral Health and provides outpatient behavioral health therapy to clients. The Therapist works in collaboration with other clinical staff and community support providers to provide high quality integrated services.

Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling field from an accredited educational institution.
Current LMSW, LISW, t-LMHC, LMHC or LMFT license with the State of Iowa,
Knowledge in crisis intervention techniques and brief therapy.
Ability to work cooperatively with a multi-disciplinary team.
Clinical experience in evaluation/assessment and multi-axial diagnoses of adolescents and adults in various stages of the developmental cycle.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Reasonably able to de-escalate a client utilizing BMC-trained philosophies.
Ability to complete electronic charting and documentation.
Microsoft office experience.

Responsibilities

Functions autonomously in providing therapy services to clients with a variety of acute and chronic mental health conditions.
Works collaboratively with other members of the patient's care team.
Conducts intake assessments as assigned.
Provides clinical consultation and educational programs to BMC staff and/or community agency program personnel as needed.
Maintains involvement with in-service training experiences.
Provides services off-site as needed.
Maintains current documentation ofall clinical services provided in accordance with department and organization standards.
Attends and actively participates in clinical department meetings.
Provides reasonable clinical oversight to other staff as needed.
Maintains current Iowa Social Work/LMHC/LMFT License.
Works to develop camaraderie with fellow therapists and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
Facilitates referrals to medication management providers, case management, and/or patient navigator when appropriate.
Embraces and supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintain individual productivity at a quantity consistent with departmental productivity standards.
Select appropriate diagnosis/diagnoses on all documentation.
Documentation for client sessions is completed in a timely manner; generally, within 24 hours of session.
Seek opportunities to expand professional practice and maintain competence in current treatment options.
Ensure professional licensure is maintained and in good standing.
Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changes in workload, schedule, department functions and procedures.
Work collaboratively with clients in formulating goals for treatment.
Assist with decreasing client utilization of inpatient psychiatric services as able through adjustment of session frequency, making appropriate referrals, and notifying others on the care team when necessary.
