About The Position

The NP Outpatient Psychiatry position at UNC Caldwell offers a full-time opportunity for a licensed and certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health needs for both adults and children, with a focus on medication management and psychiatric evaluations. The provider will work within a multidisciplinary team and will not have emergency department or clinic call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Licensed and certified PMHNP; ANCC or AANP Board Certified.
  • Experience with EPIC is preferred.
  • Team-oriented approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an office setting for a minimum of 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health needs of adults and children.
  • Provide medication management for patients pursuing outpatient services.
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations for patients.
  • Offer psychiatric leadership and direction for the treatment team.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team under the supervision of an MD psychiatrist.
  • See an average of 10-12 patients per day.
