About The Position

Billings Clinic is seeking an Outpatient Atrium Pharmacist to join our team. This part-time position (20 hours/week) is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services in the outpatient pharmacy areas. The pharmacist will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and will be involved in various essential job functions including reviewing and verifying prescriptions, preparing compounded products, managing inventory, and serving as a drug information resource. The role requires a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Billings Clinic, as well as adherence to safety and performance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate in Pharmacy.
  • Current Montana Pharmacist license.
  • Prior outpatient pharmacy practice experience preferred.
  • Maintain good standing with the Office of Inspector General (OIG).

Responsibilities

  • Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's and Pharmacy's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations.
  • Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
  • Accurately reviews and verifies prescriptions and clarifies questionable prescriptions.
  • Prepares or supervises the preparation of all non-sterile compounded and reconstituted products.
  • Controls the distribution of controlled substances and dangerous drugs as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Assists in the training and orientation of new employees and students.
  • Manages inventory including daily medication orders and medication shortages.
  • Acts as a drug information resource to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
  • Participates in process improvement and identifies ways to improve processes and patient care.
  • Participates in institutional and community efforts to promote public health and the practice of Pharmacy.
