About The Position

The position involves merchandise inventory for sale, assisting customers, and operating cash registers as requested, while maintaining a neat, safe, and orderly work environment in the Outlet. The job requires organizing the store by stocking and placing merchandise, maintaining cleanliness, assisting customers, and performing cashier duties as needed. The role also includes greeting customers and thanking them as they leave, along with performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No specific experience required; retail sales and/or cash register experience preferred.
• Basic math ability.
• Familiarity with electronic cash registers (can be learned on-the-job).
• Ability to communicate in basic oral and written English; basic Spanish preferred.
• Ability to instruct new employees in operational procedures.
• Ability to make decisions quickly and with confidence.
• Ability to maintain a strong sales presence and demonstrate a high energy and enthusiastic work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail sales or cash register operation.
• Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission and retail policies.

Responsibilities

• Organize the store by stocking and placing merchandise.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe working and shopping environment by following good housekeeping practices.
• Assist customers by helping them find merchandise and carrying their paid merchandise to their vehicles.
• Report any problems or complaints to the Outlet Supervisor.
• Remove/sort unsold merchandise for recycling/disposal as appropriate.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as requested.
• Perform cashier duties as requested.
• Greet customers entering the outlet and thank them as they leave.

Benefits

• Hourly wage of $16.50 - $16.75.
