About The Position

The Outlet Chef at Cheat Mountain Pizza will provide an expedited and precise food product for Snowshoe Mountain, WV. This position oversees kitchen operations, quality, and administration, ensuring that resources meet business needs and that food provision complies with legislation. The Outlet Chef will manage costs, improve profit margins, and meet financial targets while keeping the team updated on menu items, promotions, and events. This role also involves maintaining good communication and relationships across the hotel, managing staffing levels, conducting monthly meetings, addressing staff performance issues, and recruiting, training, and developing kitchen staff. Compliance with safety, health, and food safety regulations is essential, as is addressing maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues promptly. The Outlet Chef will align financial performance with resort objectives and adhere to food control systems to meet margin targets, review menus with the Executive Chef, and promote environmental awareness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • West Virginia Food Handlers Certificate required
  • Proficient in knife handling and use of culinary equipment (ovens, grills, broilers, sauté pans, fryers)
  • Knowledgeable in safe food handling practices
  • Experienced in food management principles and problem-solving
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
  • Capable of working effectively under time constraints and deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Two+ years of post-high school education, culinary education is desirable
  • Resort experience preferred
