Requirements

  • 2-Year Associates Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in retail management or a similar role
  • Strong store merchandising skills
  • Sound customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of retail store operations, policies, and procedures
  • Experience in recruiting and practicing diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated capacity for collaborative work in a retail environment
  • Analytical focus and demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and strong time management skills
  • Planning and budgeting experience
  • Strong computer and systems knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, registers, and back-of-house systems)

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned personnel and makes employment decisions/recommendations.
  • Establishes performance objectives, assigns and directs work, monitors work, and appraises performance.
  • Coaches and develops employees in job-related skills through work assignments, direct training, and regular feedback.
  • Administers/recommends wages and salaries and resolves routine personnel problems following company policies.
  • Assists employees in identifying personal development needs and assessing available resources.
  • Communicates company policies and procedures and monitors staffing levels to meet work requirements.
  • Prepares, maintains, and updates personnel records while reducing work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Facilitates onboarding of new employees and models L.L.Bean's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices.
  • Fosters an inclusive work environment by seeking team members' perspectives and encouraging respectful communication.
  • Assists the Store Manager in executing corporate and divisional strategies including merchandising, loss prevention, and operations.
  • Motivates and inspires the store team to achieve and exceed goals through process analysis and problem-solving.
  • Ensures adherence to store performance management processes and policies.
  • Assists in establishing store priorities for maximum productivity and customer service.
  • Fosters positive relationships with company leadership and assists with projects as needed.
  • Provides Manager of the Day coverage and oversees Back-of-House operations and product replenishment.
  • Establishes and implements Back-of-House standards and coordinates transport of products and supplies.
  • Orders supplies and maintains equipment while partnering with Facilities for maintenance needs.
  • Oversees Front-of-House operations, visual merchandising, and store presentation.
  • Contributes to seasonal direction and works with the visual team on signage and holiday promotions.
  • Provides direct service to store customers and promotes the GUIDE program.
  • Monitors product turnover and employs markdown strategies.
  • Accountable for scheduling staff and optimizing staffing levels to meet business needs.
  • Monitors physical inventory and contributes to budget planning and payroll forecasting.
  • Ensures safety and maintenance compliance with Loss Prevention and OHSA standards.
