About The Position

Attends pickleball, outdoor pool, and tennis check-in’s; assists in promotion, setup, and administration of outdoor recreation programs/events; takes payments for outdoor recreation facilities and keeps shops/ immediate grounds in an orderly fashion.

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • High School degree; three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend, in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to talk and hear using good communication skills.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect pickleball shop, immediate building area, and equipment when needed for upkeep and safety issues taking action to correct any substandard condition.
  • Help inspect and oversee events at other outdoor recreation facilities/amenities like archery range, trails, lawn sports, the dog park, and the outdoor pool.
  • Maintain flexibility in work locations and times.
  • Conduct check-in procedures and collect all the proper fees.
  • Help to maintain and police court reservation schedules.
  • Stay current on POA rules and regulations relative to facility operations and play.
  • Assist in the sale of merchandise and other equipment.
  • Use tact and diplomacy in dealing with persons, verbally, electronically, or by telephone.
  • Monitor and check court conditions for potential problems and communicate with maintenance employees or other leadership.
  • Assist in promoting and arranging matches for property owners, visitors and guests.
  • Assist in keeping the buildings, bathrooms and surrounding outside area clean as necessary.
  • Aids and assists in the development, promotion, and sustainability of the facilities.
  • Will be required to assist in other outdoor recreation activities, programs, and events.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, making every effort to accommodate customer needs.
  • Ensure the safety of patrons and staff through accident prevention and safety policy, enforcing all facility and recreation location rules and regulations.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of rules, regulations and operational use regarding POA amenity use.
  • Maintain safe, clean amenities/facilities at all times.
  • Report to supervisor any safety materials needed or maintenance concerns.
