About The Position

SUMMARY Resort Pool Attendant provides a welcoming environment for Grand Traverse Resort and Spa guests, members, and residents within all pool areas. This position ensures guest and member safety by enforcing pool rules, promptly addressing potential hazards, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Pool Attendants will greet and check in guests and members, stock fresh towels, organize lounge chairs, and always keep the pool deck and surrounding areas neat and presentable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas Assist in various recreation activities Respond and render assistance in all aquatic emergencies Enforce health club/pool rules and policies Handle cash when working at the Beach Club pool Maintain an open line of communication with the supervisor and all management Relay guest concerns to management or appropriate administrator Be knowledgeable about the Resort, Club, and Spa facilities to Member recognition and loyalty Maintain superior working relations with internal and external customers while providing a memorable experience Ensure personal accountability for all work duties, assignments, and performance expectations Lead by example by displaying a readiness to respond positively to instruction and procedures Provide and receive feedback in a positive manner, earning respect from others by consistently displaying a positive attitude and behaviors Ensure work is completed in a safe manner, conscious of standard operating procedures, and use of personal protective equipment Adhere to uniform and personal appearance standards set forth by the Employee Handbook Exemplify and model GTRS Core Values Adhere to and ensure employee accountability for GTRS policies, procedures, and standards Comply with all workplace health and safety operating and reporting procedures including OSHA and MIOSHA Other duties as assigned; this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements

15 years of age or older with a valid work permit, as required by state and federal labor laws
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple responsibilities and tasks while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Motivated with a positive attitude and perform effectively under high pressure/volume
Ability to quickly move arms, hands, and fingers to grasp; manipulate and assemble objects, walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or stand for long periods of time
Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs
Ability to comprehend and follow directions
Effectively handle stressful and difficult situations/interactions while remaining focused and professional
Ability to see objects at close range and at a distance
Perform complex or varied tasks under deadlines and tight schedules
Ability to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines; last minute requests and changes will occur at any time
Ability to maintain eye contact and engage with internal and external guests in a courteous and professional manner

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, or customer service role preferred
Basic knowledge of pool safety and sanitation practices a plus
