About The Position

The Outdoor Event Cooks prepare and produce food for events across The Resort’s property.  This dynamic cooking opportunity will exhibit restaurant quality food in multiple indoor and outdoor dining venues for the daily revolving (and evolving) outdoor dinner series.  With our strong arsenal of smoker trailers, fire pits, and event spaces, learning how to cook with live fire, working with beautiful products, and exceptional organization are just a few of the learning opportunities for both seasoned and entry level team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work; Certificate in culinary arts or relevant field
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Cook/Line Cook
  • Knowledge of world class hospitality and service
  • Valid Food Handler’s License
  • Valid State Driver’s License with two years’ driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items for guests using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Cook all food according to recipes, quality standards, presentations standards, and food preparation checklist.
  • Always Demonstrate safe and proper use of equipment; Perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Reduce waste in the kitchen to a minimum.
  • Understand and implement basic culinary tasks and procedures such as first-in/first-out (FIFO), labeling, and sanitation.
  • Monitor all food quality and presentation while preparing food.
  • Stock and rotate food; alert the Sous Chef regarding low inventory items.
  • Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, oven steam table, and flat-top grill.
  • Advise the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  • Label, date, store, and rotate all products while maintaining assigned stock levels.  Control of food items requested, ensuring stock is maintained without over production.
  • Demonstrate proper production of food items, working efficiently to achieve maximum productivity.
  • Assist in the set-up and breakdown of workstations.
  • Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Prepare cold food items while adhering to the recipe file.
  • Practice basic sanitation and stock rotation and refrigerator cleanliness; keep all work areas clean and tidy.
  • Converse with the guests at a high level, being aware of their needs and fulfilling special guest requests as instructed by management or the guest directly.
  • Ensure confidentiality of guests before and throughout their stay.
  • Able to assist in other areas of restaurant and food services as needed or instructed.

  • Always demonstrate professionalism and hospitality to guests and team members.
  • Handle guest transactions legally, ethically, and confidentially.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all team members to foster and promote a positive working environment.
  • Always maintain a clean and neat appearance.
  • Perform work in a safe and high-quality manner.
