We are searching for an Outbound Sales Representative to be responsible for actively soliciting patrons to purchase tickets for our opera season and all ancillary productions of Lyric Opera of Chicago. This may include monetary solicitations. The ideal candidate is a skilled sales professional, who leverages their persuasive abilities to engage potential customers and drive sales and contributions through phone interactions.

Requirements

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to think fast and adjust a sale to fit each patron’s needs.
Strong written skills are required.
A positive and friendly work attitude is required.
Ability to work and think independently, a motivated self-starter who also works well in a larger team.
Ability to use knowledge of Lyric’s packages and offerings to tailor options to each patron.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Voice or Music preferred.
Previous sales experience is a plus but not required.
Working knowledge of and comfort working with: Microsoft and Google suite products
CRM expertise (Tessitura a strong plus) not required

Responsibilities

Demonstrate leadership in accordance with Lyric’s mission and vision.
Solicit primarily for the sale of tickets, cross-selling as well as up-selling.
Complete outbound calls to solicit donations and demonstrate a knowledge of Lyric’s membership programs and benefits.
Ability to solve problems on the phone while maintaining a positive attitude that upholds Lyric’s commitment to excellence.
