Overview
The Outbound Freight Processor is responsible for processing all outbound freight that is not branch related, including checking and counting products to ensure shipment accuracy. The Outbound Freight Processor is responsible to ensure that all products are properly labeled, packaged, and palletized for shipments. Shipments will consist of small parcels up to multiple pallets. All products shipped must be expeditiously processed in the Chadwell Supply computer operating system. Daily work schedules vary according to business transactions and customer needs.

Requirements

• Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Be in good physical condition and capable of lifting in excess of 60 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, able to climb steps and ladders and capable of bending, stooping and carrying products up steps, stairs and down ramps and walkways.
• Exceptional computer literacy and experience are required for this position.
• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or specified education such as an AS, BA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Employee serves as the primary point of contact between the Chadwell Distribution Center, Inside Sales Department, and the Customer Service Department.
• Ensure that all outbound freight shipments are accurately recorded and tracked in the Chadwell Supply computer operating system.
• Responsible to work with management on outbound freight process changes as needed.
• Communicate with vendors, freight companies, and Distribution Center Inventory Control department regarding discrepancies, damages, and claims from the shipping processes.
• Prepare shipping documents and process by shipping FedEx, common carrier, or other transportation provider.
• Monitor outbound freight report/will call orders to ensure all tickets are properly entered through SalesPad.
• Be able to properly pack, check, label and complete outbound freight tickets to be shipped out.
• Compare carrier costs by actively utilizing Starship program. Ensure we are receiving the best outbound freight shipping costs possible.
• Handle all will call customer processes. Assist in customer will call pick-ups, provide assistance for placing orders, and process payment information if necessary.
• Process all will call COD orders.
• Assist Purchasing Department with promotional items.
