Ready to be part of something special? Join our Family! Position Summary: The truck driver is responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks. Operates trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds per gross vehicle weight. When not on the road, driver will be required to perform other duties as assigned to include but not limited to cleaning, loading unloading and maintenance. OTR drivers will be paid by two rate structures (Driving Rate Paid Per Mile & Non-Driving Rate Paid Per Hour)

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with endorsements
  • 3-5 years of experience driving doubles/triples and tanker trucks

Responsibilities

  • Deliver goods via a heavy truck from warehouse to Distribution Center.
  • Load and unload cargo as needed.
  • Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
  • Keep assigned vehicles free from damage, in acceptable condition, and consistently clean in a manner.
  • Employee must ensure that the vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to use, and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical malfunctions that exist.
  • Inspect their truck before and after the trip, and record any defects they find
  • Take all necessary safety guideline to fill up on fuel
  • Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Inspect their trailer before, during and after the trip, and record any defects they find.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Keep a log of their activities.
  • Keep driver log up to standard and carry all required documentation.
  • Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
  • Get goods to client on time.
  • Take rest periods as stated by law.
  • Take special precautions while driving.
  • No smoking in truck cab
  • Any other duties assigned.
