About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a civilian Specialty Tech- Otolaryngology at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. Position Highlights: Outpatient environment & updated facilities Freedom from on-call responsibilities | Emphasis on work-life balance Compliant and appreciative patient population Opportunity to give back & care for our Nation's military and dependents Monday through Friday- Will not exceed 40 hours Monday -Friday - 730-1630. (On days when you are assigned to assist in surgery, the duty hours will be 0700 to 1600). Clinical Scope: Performs as “scrub” assistant to the surgeon in major and minor surgery and procedures of the ear, nose, and throat. Occasionally performs as first surgical assistant rendering assistance to the surgeon. Performs other such tasks as point of use cleaning for contaminated instruments. Responsible for the care, identification, labeling, and delivery of specimens to pathology. Checks operating room set-up for arrangement of supplies and instruments, rearranging as necessary. Accomplishes routine safety checks and operator preventive maintenance on fixed and moveable medical equipment and fixtures. Perform routine and specialized housekeeping activities. Prepares and administers routine medications under the supervision of the physician Performs as “scrub” assistant to the surgeon in major and minor surgery and procedures of the ear, nose, and throat.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen
  • Highschool Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program recognized and accredited by the Comission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Burea of Health Education Schools/(ABHES)
  • 1 year of experience within the last 36 months as a surgical services technician.
  • BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
