Requirements

• Prior experience working with youth or in mentorship, counseling, or education preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong empathy, patience, and active listening abilities
• Ability to motivate and inspire young people
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
• Knowledge of youth development principles and community resources
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or relevant certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with youth through active listening, encouragement, and mentorship
• Provide guidance and support to help young people set and achieve personal, educational, and career goals
• Develop and implement engaging activities and programs that promote positive development
• Monitor and assess the progress of mentees, providing feedback and additional support as needed
• Collaborate with families, schools, and community organizations to ensure holistic support for mentees
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and program participation
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants
