About The Position

The Po'okela Special Day Program is seeking a Special Education teacher to serve students with intensive behavioral and functional needs. This role involves planning and facilitating Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and exercising independent and professional judgment in daily functions. The teacher will need to maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines and work effectively with others.

Requirements

  • Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings
  • Exercise independent and professional judgment in daily functions
