OSP Engineer – Design QC & Redlining (Arizona Market)

TEKsystemsPhoenix, AZ
29d$35 - $43Remote

About The Position

We are supporting a fully remote opening for an OSP Engineer who will focus on quality control, redlining, and validation of vendor-produced OSP design packages. Although the role is remote, candidates must live in the Arizona market due to the need for deep familiarity with the region’s municipalities, utility entities, and permitting expectations. This role is not a hands-on design position. Ideal candidates have an OSP design background but prefer a review/oversight role where they ensure accuracy, standards compliance, and constructability of vendor submissions before they proceed into production and construction. You’ll serve as the technical checkpoint for all incoming vendor design packages, reviewing them for routing accuracy, splice details, make-ready considerations, BOM validation, and overall constructability. You will redline issues, provide corrective guidance, and collaborate with both vendors and internal client engineering teams to resolve discrepancies. A critical focus of the role is ensuring that designs meet the standards and requirements of the various Arizona municipalities and permitting authorities, including differences in expectations between local AHJs, utilities, and city jurisdictions across the valley. Accurate and constructible designs prevent costly redesigns, re-permitting, and construction delays. Your reviews ensure that vendor design packages align with AZ -area standards and can move seamlessly into build phases.

  • Background in OSP design (fiber, coax, or both)
  • Experience performing QC reviews, redlines, or design validation
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, field notes, utility prints, and splice documentation
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS-based design tools, or client-specific OSP systems
