About The Position

Cyient Inc. currently has an opening for a remote based Outside Plant (OSP) Fielding Engineer, responsible for OSP Fiber, FTTT/ FTTx, Copper Overbuilds, and BAU work orders in the greater Erie, PA Region with service area throughout Western, PA. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, intelligent individuals with previous OSP engineering and Field data collection experience. The ideal OSP Fielding Engineer will travel to the field to survey, confirm, and assess current field conditions and meet with the customer or third parties as they relate to ongoing OSP or In Building designs. Candidate should have valid and clean driver's license, good communication skills. Daily workload involves multiple work locations daily and candidate must self-manage their workload and work schedule. Punctuality, flexibility to work long days and/or some overnight travel is required from time to time. A company vehicle is an option.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus.
• Experience in the Telecommunications Outside plant engineering and/or construction industry beneficial.
• Good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology.
• Experience with design programs: ICGS/IDDS and PRS is preferred.
• Solid abilities in use of mobile device/handheld devices.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to use measuring devices and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Proactive and a self-learner.
• Strong professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical thinking and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to the field to survey, confirm, and assess current field conditions.
• Meet with customers or third parties regarding ongoing OSP or In Building designs.
• Self-manage workload and work schedule across multiple work locations.
• Communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
