About The Position

As an OSP Design Engineer at Breezeline, you will be responsible for documenting physical fiber/coax paths across the network to support the installation of fiber/coax-based services. This role involves keeping detailed inventory of the network using specialized software such as Esri, OSPInsight, MapInfo, AutoCAD, and Lode Data. You will work in a dynamic and innovative environment, contributing to the company's mission of providing exceptional Internet, TV, and Voice services.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience in outside plant engineering, including fiber optic and coax design.
  • Working knowledge of Esri, OSP Insight, MapInfo, AutoCAD, and Lode Data.
  • Full knowledge of outside plant fiber optic and coax network infrastructure.
  • Ability to generate and translate information in drawings, blueprints, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in common office productivity software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telecom sales engineering or OSP field work.
  • Familiarity with GIS and database management.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Document routes for underground and aerial fiber optic cable in private and public right of ways using specialized software.
  • Interpret As-Built prints from Work & Maintenance Orders and post to permanent records.
  • Research existing record information, including records, system maps, plans, client data, and right-of-way documents.
  • Manage the conversion of source data into drawings showing placement of existing fiber optic cable.
  • Ensure fiber optic database is current and accurate by inputting data daily.
  • Provide OSP field personnel with information on cable pair, route, PED, and customer information.
  • Prepare information in various formats for executive management, sales, and field operations.
  • Assist in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Stay current on new fiber management products, services, protocols, and standards.
  • Participate in design and review of new Fiber Mapping enhancements and integrations.
  • Design and develop fiber optic network layouts for residential, commercial, and enterprise customers.
