About The Position

The OSIH Specialist at BASF Corporation in Geismar, LA, is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational safety and industrial hygiene regulations. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of working experience in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to leverage data for continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of IT tools such as Microsoft Office, Power BI, and Azure.
• Intermediate knowledge in safety management systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource on occupational safety regulatory compliance matters for OSHA and applicable industry standards.
• Provide technical and regulatory expertise to maintain safety and industrial hygiene compliance.
• Facilitate the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and practices within the EHS Community.
• Implement and operate Safety and Industrial Hygiene standardized processes and manage related electronic systems.
• Develop effective working relationships with site management, employees, and the EHS community to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide input to the OSIH Manager in identifying and tracking appropriate KPIs and assessing site performance.
• Maintain and monitor Safety and Industrial Hygiene records and prepare various reports for assigned units.
• Optimize effectiveness and efficiency of Safety and Industrial Hygiene compliance programs.
