About The Position

Assist practitioner in the process of fitting patients with off-the-shelf and/or custom-fit devices, may include orthopedic or diabetic shoes and custom-made shoe inserts as appropriate Collaborates with appropriate clinicians and technicians to maintain proper device turnaround times and patient satisfaction All medical records completed according to ABC, Medicare, and state guidelines Patient devices are appropriately fit in a professional and efficient manner Patient’s receive devices which comply with physician orders and are appropriate for their condition Assists with fabrication for custom made devices as well as performing or coordinating repairs and maintenance of items as needed Charts are documented properly including all patient interactions. Patient needs and subjective, objective information are accurately documented as well as the plan of care Department supplies ordered according to budget Proper inventory maintained Shift Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. College courses preferred
  • No previous O&P experience is required but patient care or customer service experience is a plus for this position
  • Visual ability required, as well as verbal and written communication skill
  • Previous experience in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or Physical Therapy would adapt well to this position
  • Additional training and certification will be sought for the trainee in order to advance as an orthotic fitter, mastectomy fitter, therapeutic shoe fitter, pedorthist, orthotic or prosthetic assistant or a similar area

Responsibilities
